Day 1 : Welcome to Luang Prabang
Sabaidi and welcome to Luang Prabang, the most beautiful town in Laos famous for its blend of local and colonial culture and architecture. Upon arrival to Luang Prabang Airport, our driver will transfer you to Belmond La Residence Phouvao. Unwind in the lovely garden as you sip a cocktail by the pool relaxing on your first day in Laos, or explore the charming city center on your own.

Day 2 : Sight-see in Luang Prabang and learn how to cultivate rice
Join a unique hands-on learning experience today participating in the 14 steps of rice cycle production on the Living Lands community farm. Rice is an important and vital aspect of life in Southeast Asia, and it is a main component of most culinary dishes in Laos. Learn how to select and plant the seeds, plough with the help of water buffaloes until the most enjoyable step, eating!
Return to Luang Prabang after lunch and join a lovely walking tour, visiting Wat Xieng Thong, Wat Visoun, the Melon Stupa, and Wat Aham before returning to your hotel for rest and relaxation.

Day 3 : Swim in the Kuang Si Waterfalls and attend a Baci blessing ceremony
Drive out of Luang Prabang this morning 1-hour south to the out-of-this world Kuang Si Waterfall. Swim and relax in the glowing turquoise waters in your very own version of the Jungle Book. Stop at the Kuang Si Bear Rescue Sanctuary to learn about one woman’s efforts to protect Asian sun and moon bears from illegal poaching and organ theft for medicinal purposes.
Have lunch and return to Luang Prabang in the late afternoon and join a Baci ceremony as the sun sets. Admire the atmospheric setting of lit candles gently flickering during the traditional blessing and national Lao custom offering good luck and health to the participants.

Day 4 : Meet rescued elephants and sip cocktails on a sunset Mekong cruise
Understand why Laos is nicknamed “the land of a million elephants” today with a visit to the Mandalao Elephant Conservation. Get up close and personal with Asian elephants as you learn how to feed, bathe, and take care of these gentle giants with a personal training course from a real Mahout.
Return to Luang Prabang in the early afternoon and enjoy some free time until the sunset secret cruise to Donchor Island. Sample canapes and sip cocktails during this delightful 2-hour sail along the Mekong River.

Day 5 : Offer alms to monks before saying good-bye
Rise before the sun and take part in the iconic tradition of Luang Prabang, offering alms to a long line of monks in dusky saffron robes at Ban Vat Sean. The tradition of giving alms stems back to ancient times, with the idea to give without expecting anything in return. Typical alms givings are usually of simple food such as rice or fruit so that the monks can have their one meal per day.
After the ceremony, return to the hotel to have your own breakfast before checking out of the hotel and transferring to the Luang Prabang airport for your onward booked travel.

About this tour
- This itinerary is a privately guided tour through some of Luang Prabang’s major historical attractions and cultural activities
- Laos is a conservative country so take care to pack >loose, lightweight, long clothing to be respectful and keep cool in the predominantly hot climate
- An airport arrival and departure transfer is included. Please provide your flight details at the time of booking, or at a minimum of 15 days prior to travel
- Please ensure your passport has a minimum of 6 months validity remaining at the time of your departure and that the name on your passport matches the name on your booking and airline tickets
